Punta Leona leader in Bandera Azul Ecológica

Punta Leona Community receives 2 stars

This year the Punta Leona community, consisting of the neighbors of the residential area of the tourist complex, obtained 2 stars thanks to the special attention given to reforestation, protection of water resource, and the supply of drinking water.

One of the most important points of the Punta Leona Community to emphasize is its protection and conservation of its water supply. This has been achieved with adequate programs for fountains, maintenance of tanks and systems of disinfect ion. The aqueduct has received the Bandera Blanca award.

   

Mantas and Limoncito, clean and safe beaches

The Local Committee has not only worked on Playa Blanca and the Punta Leona community. Playa Mantas has received for the second year, 2 stars due to its continued work and improvements in sewage and the reutilization of its waters in the irrigation of green areas.

Playa Limoncito was registered since the creation of the program and is proudly of the few committees that have sustained the Bandera award for 11 years without interruption.

   

18 thousand trees planted to fight against dengue

Among environmental efforts by Hotel and Club Punta Leona in 2006 was its reforestation campaign in neighboring beaches and communities such as: Agujas, Quebrada Ganado, Bajamar, Guacalillo, Jacó, among others where 18 thousand trees were planted.
