Selvamar Standard & Superior

The Selvamar rooms of Hotel Punta Leona have been strategically designed and located to minimize their impact on the environment without compromising with your comfort and enjoyment. These rooms are distributed in modules of four unit, linked by a small courtyard.

If you wonder why the areas are named after Latin American countries, it is because of the movie 1492 Conquest of Paradise, produced by Ridley Scoth and starring Gerard Depardieu, which was partially realized in Costa Rica, using Punta Leona as its stage in 1992. All areas are named after a country that was discovered by Columbus during his visit to America. We invite you to watch this fascinating movie and to learn more about its story.


Selvamar Standard

These rooms are distributed in modules of four units linked by an internal courtyard. Overlooking a tropical garden, the Selvamar Standard are equipped with two double beds, a private bathroom, a mini-fridge, AC, cable TV, a coffee maker, a telephone, a hair dryer and a safe.

Terms

- All booking requests and procedures must be addressed to the Reservations Department. Your reservation will be confirmed only once you receive an email with the details of the purchased service and payment methods.
- For all reservations made through third parties, you must present the reservation voucher or the signed contract (by both parties; corporate groups, agencies groups) at the entrance of the Hotel.
- For the periods of Christmas week and Easter week, a minimum night’s stay is required. (Information is provided by the Reservation Department).

Payment policy

All reservations must be prepaid following the season policies indicated below: :
Season A: Christmas Holiday (25th – 31st of December) and Holy week (easter)
Season B: From January 1st to April 30th; July; from December 1st to December 24th (included). Long weekends.
Season C: From May 1st to June 30th and August 1st to November 30th. Except July and long weekends.

Payments can be made as follow:
1. Credit Card: fill up the respective form. Note that you will be charged once as soon as you submit the documentation
2. Deposit or wire transfer: You must indicate the amount, the date and the name of the bank in order to make your reservation. If you don’t, the Hotel is not responsible in case of cancellations.
Rates are subject to current exchange rates BCCR and do not include additional charges that might be incurred during the stay.

Cancellation policies

SEASON A:
• No Charge applies for cancellations received more than 15 days before arrival of the customer.
• 50% of the total of the prepaid amount will be charged for cancellations received between 14 – 7 days before the arrival of the customer.
• 100% of the total amount will be charged for cancellations received between 6 – 0 days before arrival of the customer.
• No Show: 100% of the total amount will be charged.
SEASON B:
• First night will be charged for cancellations received less than 72 hours before the arrival of the customer.
• No Show: 100% of the total amount will be charged.
SEASON C:
• No charge if cancellation is made at least 24 hours before the arrival of the customer.
• First night will be charged for cancellation made less than 24 hours before arrival of the customer.
• No Show: 100% of the total amount will be charged.

Child policy

Free for children between 0 to 5 years old. Children from 6 to 11 only pay for food. Children from 12 and onwards are considered as adults. A maximum of two children per room is allowed in this case.

Difference between Standard and Superior rooms

Both room types are located in the same area. Entirely renovated to offer more comfort to our guests, the superior rooms differentiate themselves by offering larger bathrooms, ceiling fans and larger windows. Some of them also offer a terrace.


Selvamar Superior

Surrounded by vegetation, these recently renovated rooms come either with a king bed or two double beds.

With their high ceilings, large windows with view on the rainforest, comfortable beds and large private bathrooms, the superior rooms are a great option for those who seek nature and relaxation. All rooms are equipped with ceiling fan, coffee maker, cable TV, telephone, hair dryer, AC and a safe. Some of the superior rooms have terraces with garden view
