What is the weather like year round?
- The climate is warm and humid. Dry season is from the middle of November through April and rainy season from May to the middle of November. During the rainy season it is generally sunny in the mornings and then the clouds come in around midday and it generally rains from 1PM-5PM (it may rain more or less). Average temperature is 80F, 26C.
What is the nearest town?
- Jacó is the nearest town, located approximately 12KM from Punta Leona. It offers tourists many fine restaurants and souvenir shops, as well as a couple of casinos and discos.
Is there transportation from Punta Leona to Jacó?
- From Punta Leona, Jacó can be reached by taxi. Our front desk staff will order the taxi for you. The ride costs about 28 US$ round-trip.
How far is Punta Leona from the Airport?
- Punta Leona is approximately 90KM (1.5 to 2 hours drive on good road) from the airport.
Is there a grocery store?
- There is a mini market at the resort that sells basic goods (no fresh foods like fruits, vegetables, etc.).
Where can I get my film developed?
- The resort souvenir shop will arrange to have your film developed within 24 hours.

- US traveler's checks are accepted at the resort.
Is the water drinkable?
- Yes, the water comes from our own deep wells and is drinkable. If you prefer bottled water, it can be purchased at the resort in the restaurants and mini market.
Are there places to surf nearby?
- There are great places to surf close to Punta Leona, such as Playa Jacó (20 minutes drive), Playa Hermosa (35 minutes drive) and Playa Negra (50 minutes drive).
Are there mosquitoes?
- Yes, there are mosquitoes. It is recommended that you bring mosquito repellent or it can be purchased at the mini market.
Are there dance clubs in the area?
- Punta Leona now has a new beachside disco, which is the perfect atmosphere to dance to the rhythms of Salsa, Merengue and Pop music on weekends. Also, Punta Leona is just 20 minutes from Jacó, where there is one large disco.
