" My wife and I just returned home from a week at your beautiful resort.  My intention was to combine birding with relaxation at a tropical beach hotel.  It could not have been better.  We stayed in your Leonamar facility, from which we had the most incredible views.  And even though we were at the end of the rainy season, the weather was very cooperative.  Most important, the birding at Punta Leona was better than I had expected.  I believe you have an opportunity to attract more birders from the US and Canada during the later part of the green season, by expanded advertising in U.S. birding periodicals. Even with a bird life list of over 700, I was able to add 42 life birds in the Punta Leona grounds alone.  When nearby Carara and Tarcoles are added the list was over 70.  A key part of this success is a credit to your bird walk leader, Roy Arroyo.  He is a very accomplished birder with excellent knowledge of the local natural history.  He is a valuable resource to attract serious birders. We found out about Punta Leona in Bird Watcher's Digest dated November/December 1999.  Your excellent web sight provided the rest of the needed information.  I would suggest advertising in Birder's World and in the publications of the American Birding Association (ABA) to expand interest.
